About Us

I am Emily and I am an avid dog lover. I have recently given up my career in fashion to fulfil my true passion, dogs! I have grown up around dogs all my life and have lived with a variety of breeds from troublesome Terriers to roaring Rotties! I believe all dogs great and small are a true blessing! At The Hound Runner, my aim is to offer all dogs a truly fun and stimulating experience. I believe a dog should be walked in a variety of places to develop sensory skills, increase socialisation and become the well-rounded pooch every family needs. It is important to get to know my clients as well as their dogs. Any potential client is more than welcome to join me on a walk. I am a dog owner myself and have completed doggy first aid and dog psychology courses. I am fully insured and a member of the Professional Dog Walkers Association. Your dog is in safe hands.

Walks

I like to call our walks Adventures as no walk is the same. I take dogs local parks and commons, there will not be anymore than 4 dogs on one walk guaranteed. If your dog does not work well in packs, I offer one to one walks also. Walks are offered in 1 or 2 hour slots. Please take into consideration additional time for pick up and drop off. As a responsible walker and as well as loving dogs, I also love the world we live in, therefore I only use biodegradable poo bags.

Reward is a huge part of dog walking so I always have healthy treats with me to ensure good behaviour is rewarded. I like to use chicken, liver or cheese bites. If your dog has any specific treats you would like me to use please ensure these are given to me on pick-up.

Services

Puppy visits

Having a puppy is hard work, and there will be times where you cannot be there for your pup’s needs, its perfectly normal. I offer a 30 minute puppy visit where I can pop in and spend some time with your puppy to ensure they are getting on ok, clear up any mess and anything else your pup might need. Once your puppy is ready to start walking and meeting other dogs, we would be happy to welcome them to an Adventure!

FAQ’s

Are you insured?

Yes, fully insured. If you require a copy of the insurance certificate I would be happy to provide this.

Do I need to be home when you collect and drop off my dog?

No, if you are happy to give a set of keys I will be happy to let myself in and out.

What happens if there is an emergency?

You will be notified as soon as possible. Your dog will be taken to your named vet, or the nearest possible one if necessary. All clients will fill in an emergency contact sheet prior to walking to give me all relevant info. If I have not received this, I cannot walk your dog.

Do you walk bitches in season?

No, it is against policy.

Can you walk my dog if it has not been neutered or spayed?

I will consider each dog separately, however I do reserve the right to refuse service.

What if I don’t need my dog walked on a regular basis, will you still take my dog?

Yes, I can be flexible dependant on other bookings. It is best to give me as much notice as possible.

Will my dog be walked off lead?

I will only walk your dog off lead if you have signed an off lead consent form to show you are confident your dog has good recall. Otherwise, your dog will be walked on a long lead.
